Here's the permanent damage. Once I put everything back together, I applied a small amount of quick set JB weld and sanded it smooth to prevent dust from entering through the lens. You can also see how the mounting barrel threads were modified at some point in time. Luckily they appear to be milled down and not hacked at with a file or something so the threads are still functional even with the flats on them. I suspect somebody had this mounted in a board with 4 bolts to hold it in. This lens will be mounted in a JoLo MK III lens board when all is said and done.
I gently hammered the cracked portion back into place and realigned the threads with a scribe and pick.
Rear element removed. This element underwent the same treatment as the front. Soaked in ammonia peroxide solution and cleaned. Some of the black paint flaked off the edge of the cemented elements. I used some epoxy model paint to re coat the edged and let dry overnight. At the minimum, use a black sharpie to re paint the edges. The black paint is there to prevent lens flares and weird artifacts. You will most likely notice what appears to be dust on the lens...On close inspection under a magnifying glass you will see it isn't dust but air bubbles in the glass. Old glass tends to have them and they will not affect the performance of the lens.
